Pasture management and greenhouse gases emissions

چکیده
Pastures are important environments worldwide because they offer many ecosystem services and sustain meat milk production. However, pastures ecosystems responsible for greenhouse gas (GHG) emission. The major GHGs include CO2, CH4, N2O. present review summarizes GHG emission from pasture discusses strategies to mitigate this problem. In pastures, emissions originate animal excretion, fertilization, organic matter decomposition. Emissions of specific gases can be measured based on certain factors that were recently updated by the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change in 2019. Optimal crop management can reduce energy use and greenhouse gases emissions in rainfed canola production
Energy use and greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions in rainfed canola production in north eastern Iran were analyzed to find measures to reduce energy use and GHG emissions. Four production scenarios, i.e. a high-input, a low-input, a better crop management and a usual scenario, evaluated. All activities and production processes were monitored and recorded over three consecutive years. The usua...
متن کاملWaste Management Multi-Objective Optimization for Greenhouse Gases Emissions Control
This paper presents the methodology that has been followed and the results that came up from the elaboration of an EC co-financed LIFE+ project in Greece (LIFE09/ENV/GR/294). The objective of the project is to develop a software tool that enables Waste Management Authorities and other stakeholders to substantially reduce GHG emissions resulting from their waste management (WM) activities. The t...
متن کاملEstimation of greenhouse gases emissions from urban traffic: a case study of Hamadan city
Background and Objective: Transportation sector generates the largest share of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2 and CH4) which causes global warming. “Stop-and-go” driving and congested traffic flow results in a decrease in average car speeds, an increase in traffic incidents, and finally escalates GHGs emissions. Hence, congestion is directly related to carbon emissions. The objective of this stu...
متن کاملEmissions of greenhouse gases from a North American megacity
[1] Atmospheric column abundances of carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) have been measured above the South Coast air basin (SCB), a densely populated urban region of Southern California, USA, which includes Los Angeles and the surrounding suburbs. Large diurnal variations in CO and CH4 are observed which correlate well with those in CO2. Weaker cor...

Examination of research into pole alternatives indicates that, without exception, studies have found that total energy requirements associated with wood materials are considerably lower than those of commonly substituted materials. The substitution of high-energy-intensive materials for low-energy-using wood materials would contribute substantially to an overall increase in carbon
